When we were in Perth Ms C had loads of time to catch up with people she has known for a long time. I was a tad shy meeting so many new people BUT they were all so very nice and friendly.
We stayed with friends Ms C knew from when she taught on Katherine School of the Air way back in the early 1990's. They used to own Inverway Station [6hrs away from Katherine]. Trish and Johnny have a fab house with lots of room and Ms C thinks of it as a 'home away from home'. Trish cooked us yummy breakfasts each day and looked after us. Ms C helped out doing some computer work for Trish and I just got to have fun with everyone else. Ms C did sneak off one day for some shopping and came back with a few new clothes - MORE to fit in the car! The weather was still gorgeous most days - only a light jumper / jacket needed.
Then great excitement with me meeting Zoe and Stella - Ms C taught their Mum years ago on School of the Air. See the blog posts I have written about my fab time with the girls.
Then even more excitement Mr and Mrs Smith flew in - you may all remember them from when they helped us all out at Alawa. Mrs Smith mainly worked in the farm and in some classreooms and Mr Smith helped with some teaching and maths groups. They moved from Darwin to Wangaratta in Victoria last July. Ms C and I drove out to Perth Airport to pick them up and they are then with us for the next few weeks on the road trip.
One night we had another special visitor Ms Rusconi - who taught at Alawa a few years ago. I was so happy to see her again as well and she gave me lots of hugs.
