Time to be home........Erldunda, Devils Marbles and then Daly Waters

 On the road again.....

A few long days in the car and then afternoons exploring the areas we stayed at.

Ms C and Squizz listened to pod casts about some crimes and some funny things that have happened in Australian history.

Sunset at Erldunda - just over the NT border - back in our Territory and getting closer to home.

Check out this old clothes line we saw at a roadhouse along the journey

Daly Waters Township - many old artefacts and pieces of history to explore

Dropping Squizz off at her home at Virginia - she had ended up with a fair bit if shopping and new things she picked up along the road trip. I really had fun getting to know Squizz and having her with us. She really looked after me when Ms C forgot about me sometimes.

Time to go home.......Coober Pedy

 Have you ever stayed underground?

Well we did at Coober Pedy.......quite unusual but warm inside even when VERY chilly outside.

The town is famous for its opal mining and as it gets SOOOOO hot most people actually live underground in dug out homes where the temperature stays cool and warm all year round.

Some special pavers donated by children from all different schools for a special occasion in the town.

Time to go home.......Quorn

After we left Tumby Bay Ms C told me we were now heading home - back to Darwin and Alawa school.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at school again BUT a little sad to finish our big road trip.

Ms C said that by the time we get home we will have:

  • Travelled 15 000kms
  • Slept in 31 different beds
6 more nights as we head out of South Australia and back into the NT.

A bit cold as we watched the show at night projected onto the silos - really interesting - all about the history of the town and the important role it played supporting the troops in the War.

We visited Pitchie Pitchie Railway Station and Museum.

Wowza - look at the old telephones......

On our way we stopped in at Port Augusta and Ms C found all these small ceramic ALLE's for sale - she bought a whole box of them for gifts at school. Not as handsome as me though!

Eyre Peninsula: Tumby Bay

We arrived in Tumby Bay on the Saturday afternoon and soon were welcomed by Hartley and Robyn and we settled in for 4 nights.

Ms C and Squizz stayed up late a few nights playing cards [Ms C was VERY competitive] and Hartley took us exploring each day. Again sooooo many beaches, bays to explore. All a tad toooo cold for Ms C to swim BUT gorgeous to see and we had loads of fun!

Check out the paintings on the silos at the edge of Tumby Bay

A very different animal we saw - Squizz told us this was a Hielan Coo! I have never heard of these before!!!!!

Eyre Peninsula: Coffin Bay

Ms C really liked this small town - I think she will sneak back there one day - hope she remembers to take me.

Home of very famous Oysters - they even sell them from vending machines.

Yeah: More new friends and time at the Farm

At Kyilla Vale farm in Ungarra SA I  met some new friends. Jayden who is 10 and Aishah who is 8 and their very special furry friend Bubbles.

They took me exploring around their farm. They grow wheat, barley, canola and vetch.
First they showed me their fab pizza oven / they cook margarita pizzas in it BUT did not make one for me.

Next we checked out the trees (cherry) then we went to the swing and I was a bit scared but Jayden and Aishah kept me safe.  Then we went to their cubby house that their Dad built. I got to bake a cake for everyone to share  - they said it was yummy!

We had work to do then / collecting wood for the fire as it was soooooo cold. About 12degrees.  Luckily it was already chopped ready for us.

Then the bestest part was seeing the big farm machinery. This is me on the Mother bin. The header puts the grain into the chaser bin and then the chaser puts the grain into the mother bin. So the trucks have time to come back and refill. It was HUGE!

Then I got to drive the Toyota (don’t tell Ms C).  I was very careful and Jayden  helped me  - he is learning to drive with his Dad. Very clever.

It was getting dark so we did a quick play on the trampoline and I got stuck in the basketball hoop on top of the trampoline. Aishah got me down.

Then Ms C called us inside where it was really warm by the fire.
My new besties will be travelling with their Mum and Dad upto Darwin in their caravan in the school holidays - I will so excited to see them again!!!!!
